Who we are

Plainsview Academy is a school at Mwangeka Road, South B, Nairobi, Kenya. We are the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at [email protected] or on +254 717 703 057.

What we collect

We collect information in three ways.

• Schedule a visit requests. When you ask to visit the school, we collect the parent or guardian's name, email address and phone number, and optionally your child's name, the grade they are joining, a preferred day or time, and any message you add.
• Security checks. The visit form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm a real person is submitting it. Turnstile processes technical information about your browser for this purpose.
• Website analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited, so we can improve the site. It sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, your approximate location and your device type.

How we use your information

• To arrange a visit to the school, and to contact you about your request.
• To keep the website secure and stop automated spam.
• To understand how the website is used, so we can make it more helpful.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run this website and our email, and only so they can do that work for us:

• Resend, which delivers visit requests to our school inbox.
• Cloudflare, which runs the Turnstile security check.
• Google, which provides Google Analytics.

We may also share information when the law requires it. Some of these providers process data outside Kenya, and they apply their own safeguards.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to measure visits. You can stop this by changing your browser settings to block cookies, or by using a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics. The site still works if you block them.

How long we keep it

We keep visit request details only for as long as needed to arrange your visit and respond to you, and then we delete them. Analytics data is kept by Google under its own retention settings.

Children

The website is for parents and guardians. A child's name is collected only when a parent or guardian gives it in a visit request. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
• ask us to delete your information;
• object to how we use your information, or withdraw your consent at any time.

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
